Het refereerde aan een presentatie van de architect Domingo Izquierdo over dit verrassende deel van de oude huizen in de koloniale stad Sucre, iets wat iedere bezoeker kan ontdekken door alleen maar door de straten van het historisch centrum te wandelen.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"group segmentsize3\"><div class=\"full-width-text-block no-slideshow\"><p>De patio is sterk gerelateerd aan de levensstijl in de koloniale en republikeinse periodes in de geschiedenis, toen de huizen werden gedeeld door verschillende families die hun belangrijkste huishoudelijke activiteiten uitvoerden in de open lucht in \u00e9\u00e9n of twee interne ruimtes. Fonteinen en stukjes tuin waren normale attributen en veranderden de patios in intieme en plezierige plekken om de zonnige en warme dagen door te brengen, die zo gewoon zijn in Sucre.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"group segmentsize3\"><div class=\"full-width-text-block no-slideshow\"><figure id=\"attachment_2282\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2282\" style=\"width: 2694px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2282 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2694\" height=\"1278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round.jpg 2694w, https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round-768x364.jpg 768w, https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round-1024x486.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2694px) 100vw, 2694px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2282\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eerste patio van Hotel Villa Antigua<\/figcaption><\/figure><div class=\"vce-text-block text-justify\"><p>Het ontwerp van de patio is vaak hetzelfde: het is verbonden met de straat door een gang en omgeven met twee verdiepingen van galerijen, met vaak nog een andere gang naar de tweede patio of groententuin. Sommige huizen hadden zelfs nog een derde patio, met stallen en nog een groententuin of boomgaardje. De keuken was dicht bij de achterste patios. De eerste patio had de belangrijkste publieke functie: om bezoekers te ontvangen en als werkruimte. De deuren worden zelfs in de huidige tijd nog vaak open gelaten gedurende het grootste deel van de dag, zodoende geven ze de gelegenheid aan voorbijgangers om even naar binnen te gluren.<\/p><p>De galerijen rond de patio uit de Republikeinse periode hebben rijen van pilaren, terwijl de vroegere galerijen uit de koloniale periode vaak opener waren, met houten posten die de galerij van de eerste verdieping en het dak ondersteunden.De twee verdiepingen waren verbonden door een kleine trap, verborgen in \u00e9\u00e9n van de hoeken. De vloer van de begane grond was belegd met stenen. De kamers rond de patio hadden geen directe verbindingen, men gebruikte de galerijen om van de ene naar de andere ruimte te gaan, hiermee de privacy beperkend en de nadruk leggend op het samenleven tussen de bewoners van het huis. Een grotere ruimte op de eerste verdieping deed dienst als ontvangstkamer of -salon.<\/p><p>Al deze karakteristieken kunt u zien en ervaren in \u00e9\u00e9n van de meest representatieve herenhuizen van Sucre, dat tegenwoordig Hotel Villa Antigua is, en waar de eerste patio een overheersende rol vervuld, nog versterkt door de nieuwe centrale trap. De tweede patio is getransformeerd in \u00e9\u00e9n van de grootste tuinen in het historisch centrum van de stad, met bloemen, fruitbomen, sierstruiken en kruiden.
