Refer\u00eda a la presentaci\u00f3n del arquitecto Domingo Izquierdo sobre este elemento atractivo de las casas antiguas en la ciudad colonial de Sucre y que todo visitante puede descubrir con solamente pasear por las calles del centro hist\u00f3rico.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"group segmentsize3\"><div class=\"full-width-text-block no-slideshow\"><p>El patio responde al estilo de vida en los per\u00edodos colonial y republicano, donde las casas fueron compartidas por diferentes familias que realizaban actividades dom\u00e9sticas importantes en una o dos \u00e1reas internas abiertas. Fuentes y pedazos de jard\u00edn eran atributos normales y convert\u00edan los patios en lugares \u00edntimos y placenteros para pasar los d\u00edas soleados y calientes que son tan frecuentes en Sucre.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><figure id=\"attachment_2282\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2282\" style=\"width: 2694px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2282 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/web.villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2694\" height=\"1278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round.jpg 2694w, https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round-768x364.jpg 768w, https:\/\/villaantiguahotel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/patio-round-1024x486.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2694px) 100vw, 2694px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2282\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Primer patio de Hotel Villa Antigua<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div><div class=\"group segmentsize3\"><div class=\"full-width-text-block no-slideshow\"><div class=\"vce-text-block text-justify\"><div id=\"el-30a78fad\" class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-30a78fad\"><div class=\"group segmentsize1\"><div class=\"group segmentsize3\"><div class=\"full-width-text-block no-slideshow\"><p>El dise\u00f1o del patio es bastante regular: conectado con la calle por un zagu\u00e1n y rodeado por galer\u00edas en dos pisos, y en muchos casos con otro zagu\u00e1n al segundo patio o huerto. Algunas casas hasta ten\u00edan un tercer patio, con establos y un huerto. La cocina estaba cerca de los \u00faltimos patios. El primer patio ten\u00eda la mayor funci\u00f3n p\u00fablica: para recibir visitantes y como \u00e1rea de trabajo. Las puertas, hasta en los d\u00edas actuales, se mantienen abiertas la mayor parte del d\u00eda, dando oportunidad a la gente pasante de ojear hacia adentro.<\/p><p>Las galer\u00edas alrededor del patio de la \u00e9poca Republicana llevaban filas de columnas, mientras que las anteriores galer\u00edas coloniales eran m\u00e1s abiertas y con postas de madera que sosten\u00edan la galer\u00eda del primer piso y los techos. Los dos pisos eran conectados v\u00eda una grada peque\u00f1a escondida en uno de los rincones. El piso de la planta baja era de piedras. Las habitaciones alrededor del patio no ten\u00edan conexiones entre s\u00ed, sino se utilizaban las galer\u00edas para ir de un espacio a otro, poniendo l\u00edmites a las actividades privadas y como insistiendo en una existencia com\u00fan entre todos los habitantes de la casa. Un espacio m\u00e1s grande en el primer piso serv\u00eda como sal\u00f3n de recepci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Todas estas caracter\u00edsticas se pueden ver y experimentar en una de las mansiones en Sucre m\u00e1s representativas de la \u00e9poca republicana, que es el Hotel Villa Antigua, donde el patio juega un rol predominante y todav\u00eda m\u00e1s por la integraci\u00f3n de una nueva grada central. El segundo patio fue convertido en uno de los jardines m\u00e1s grandes del centro hist\u00f3rico de la ciudad, con flores, \u00e1rboles frutales, arbustos decorativos y hierbas.
